Trailer for a fictional Series
About the Project
My goal was to create an exciting teaser trailer for a fictional series. This series is about a man who commits a robbery at a gas station, under the influence of drugs, and gets chased by the police. The trailer aimed to pique interest in the series and make the audience curious about the story. This project serves as my bachelor's thesis.
For about 5 months, I worked on this project, dedicating approximately 6 hours each day. From start to finish, I handled everything alone, though Professors Sebastian Hirsch and Jutta Zylka provided assistance, especially with art direction.
Firstly, I created a storyboard and a mood board. Then, I created a previz, which i revised five times.I modeled the gas station and bridge in Blender and textured them in Substance Painter. Additionally, I incorporated assets from Megascans, CGTrader, and TurboSquid to enrich the scenes. I recorded the character movements using a motion capture suit from Xsense. Congaz Creative Media Production aided me in this task. Since the suit couldn't capture finger movements, I animated them separately by hand.
I utilized a tool called Human Generator v3 for Blender to create the characters. I crafted some clothing myself, such as a jacket I purchased from CGTrader and modified using Marvelous Designer. I retextured it in Substance Painter. I also created a ski mask and sunglasses. The shoes and pants were sourced from CGTrader.
I purchased some models, including cars and most of the interior of the gas station. I constructed the background buildings using simple shapes and textures I found online.
